What to do if Pipes Freeze?

• If you turn on your faucets and water does not come out, leave the faucets on and call a plumber.
• Never try to thaw a pipe with a torch or open flame as it can be a fire hazard.
• A hair dryer may be able to help thaw a frozen pipe. Start by warming the pipe as close to the faucet as possible, working toward the coldest section of pipe.
• Never use any electrical appliances in standing water.
• Turn off your water at the main shutoff if your pipes burst.
• Lastly, if you are unable, unsure or unable to locate the frozen pipe call a plumber!
