Faulty Fire Sprinkler in Torrington Commercial Building Causes Water Damage
A sprinkler line broke in this Torrington, CT warehouse, causing flooding to 85% of the facility, including the office spaces. This might have seemed like a typical commercial water damage restoration job. However, we had the tile flooring tested for asbestos and the results came back positive, which requires professional removal according to safety guidelines.
Once the flooring was safely removed and discarded, our team was able to begin the water damage restoration process. This included providing generators to run our machines during the clean up process. We tore out wet sheetrock, carpeting and baseboards and disposed of them.
The warehouse was so large that we installed over 100 air movers. These, along with water extractors, dehumidifiers and air scrubbers (which filter the air) dried the building out. To avoid any chance of mold growth, all surfaces were treated with a high pressure steam cleaners and anti-microbial agents.
